[ba-ohs-talk] Engelbart Interview up on SWITCH

Hi everyone,    (01)

Thanks to Matt Mays and his friends, we have access to the transcript of
a more recent interview with Doug up on the web.     (02)

"SWITCH is the new media art journal of the CADRE Laboratory for New
Media of the School of Art and Design at San Jose State University. It
has been published on the Web since 1995. They are interested in
fostering a critical viewpoint on issues and developments in the
multiple crossovers between art and technology. Their main focus is on
questioning and analyzing as well as reporting and discussing these new
art forms as they develop, in hopes of encouraging dialogue and possible
collaboration with others who are working and considering similar
issues.     (03)

SWITCH aims to critically evaluate developments in art and technology in
order to contribute to the formation of alternative viewpoints with the
intention of expanding the arena in which new art and technology
emerge."     (04)

This issue of SWITCH has an interview with Tim O'Reilly and the work of
Pierre Levy on Collective Intelligence will be worth a look.     (05)

The new issue of the magazine is at http://switch.sjsu.edu    (06)

The transcript of Doug's talk (One of their Invitationals) is at
http://switch.sjsu.edu/~switch/nextswitch/categories/issue18/invitationa
l/switch_engelbart_transcript.pdf    (07)

Look for the part where Doug is described as an artist, and find out
about his reaction to that description.    (08)
