One possible avenue with which to approach DKR funding:
1) Identify a problem domain or two that business would just
love to solve.
For example, maybe something simple like a database of
business procedures -- such a problem would be highly
tractable, but perhaps better addressed with a DKR than
HTML pages?
There are other problems that businesses need to solve,
as well. For example: Configuration management. Many
complex systems are orderable in pieces, but if you get
3 disks and one power supply, you're one power supply
short -- and don't forget the cables, etc. These systems
are *very* hard to create and maintain. Maybe they would
fall to a DKR attack.
2) Having identified a problem that many businesses would
*love* to solve (and would pay big bucks for), show how
a DKR would make it go away.
3) Given a known problem and a realistic solution, funding is
not far away. General Motors, et al, would probably love
to invest. If not, letters of intent to purchase such a system
draws more venture-capitalist people than flies to a honey
convention.
4) Make it clear at the outset that product will be
low-cost-or-free to non-profit organizations, educational
institutions, and government agencies. Charge an arm and
a leg for profit-seeking corporations. Make those terms
a condition of investment.
