The mirrorworlds.com web site was mentioned before on this list, but maybe
it didn't get the coverage it warrants; David Gelernter appears to be the
sire of yet another great idea: Lifestreams. He did Linda (which became
TSpaces, JavaSpaces, and now Jini), and lots of other neat stuff, not to
mention a couple of great books to read.

Their home page at mirrorworlds.com says that a patent was issued on the
technology (I haven't explored that thread). In any event, Lifestreams is
well documented and should be understood, IMHO, while thinking through DKR.
