Here is more information on WebDAV. This is current and comprehensive:
1. The WebDAV Specification is IETF RFC 2518. You can get it here:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/pub/ietf/webdav/protocol/rfc2518.txt
or at the IETF site.
The site at http://www.webdav.org provides the latest stuff on
everything.
The key working groups are describe here: http://www.webdav.org/wg/
Jim Whitehead's WebDAV Working group site lists all of the current
drafts
and RFC activity:
http://www.ics.uci.edu/pub/ietf/webdav/
Many of the documents are available here in alternative (unofficial)
renditions, such as PDF and HTML.
2. DASL: DAV Query and Retrieval
2.1 There is a W3C XML Query effort that in some sense deals with the
question of querying over XML structures. The requirements are at
http://www.w3.org/TR/xmlquery-req, and it specifies more on
participation.
2.2 DASL is the IETF activity for DAV Search and Location which is more
about the collection level and multi-collection level querying of
material
in WebDAV services. Information on DASL is at
3. Delta-V: DAV Versioning
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-deltav-versioning-02.txt
got lots of discussion and review is requested for this recent versions
4. Additional DAV Proposals
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-webdav-binding-protocol-02.tx
t
Bindings for sharing resources under more than one URL; lots of review
discussion of this one and update pending.
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-webdav-redirectref-protocol-0
2.txt
Redirect References and their manipulation in WebDAV; still in the
midst of
hot review.
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-webdav-ordering-protocol-02.t
xt
Having collections ordered on the server side (this may be going
nowhere
though)
http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-ietf-webdav-propfind-space-00.txt
Ability to discover all properties of a webdav space, also not
discussed
lately

I'm going to need a web link for this one.
