I'm not sure that's an issue. XML is going to need much
more powerful editors than HTML does, what with its
more rigorous validity requirements (not to mention the
immense size of some XML docs compared to HTML
docs). So the XML-head will probably be working one
step removed from the actual markup anyway. As long
as such editors allow an optional view/edit of the raw
markup, XML should remain fairly accessible.
Somebody *better* write good XML editors. Text editors
with a dab of colored text aren't going to handle XML much
longer.
(Of course the editors had better be cheap. $150 for
XMLSpy would not constitute easy access to someone
earning $50/week.)
