Talking about concept mapping, did you hear about the Diva project
( ? It was developed at UC Berkeley and looks
like a very sound foundation for creating Java application and applets that
    handle dynamic information.

"Welcome to the new home page for Diva, a software infrastructure for
visualizing and interacting with dynamic information spaces. Sound
interesting? Find out more on the about page, view some nifty demos, or
    download the software."

      This is an applet.
"Once you start exploring, you can use the Concept Globe map:
Left-Click on any area of the map to bring it to the centre.
Right-Click on a Label to open that Concept.
Shift-Click to zoom in, Control-Click to zoom out.
       Brighter Labels indicate Stronger Concepts.
Nearness on the Globe indicates Relationship.
OR simply select from the concept list. "

Once you click the start button, you will see a nifty graphical display
which has, as its home page:
      source code available
