This is a great example of a long-time community that continues to try to
learn and experiment. I've been following Perl development for a long
time, including the Topaz project (the precursor to this Perl 6 effort),
and I'm on the bootstrap Perl 6 mailing list. They are experiencing some
of the same issues as we are, which is very heartening to see, because
they are a successful and long-running community.
Thanks, Grant, for the pointer. I'd encourage people to look at other
projects, and for people to share their own experiences regarding open
source development, especially large-scale ones.
